Buying your first home is one of life’s milestones. Everyone’s stories and experiences are different, which is why we’re sharing how our team members bought their first home, and what they learnt along the way.
Paul Brosnahan — Lending Assistant
I bought my first home back in the mid 90s, in Otaki. It was really nice for a first home, with three bedrooms and two lounges.
It was straightforward to save a deposit, as we had a 95 percent lending deal, so a 5 percent deposit meant we only needed $7000!
What is one lesson you would tell your younger self (if you could!) about buying your first home? The time to buy is always now—it'll never get any easier!
